Week 13-17 January

This week, we learned a lot about the theory of how to tell a story. In this class, we watched several micro movies, 2+2, spider, and so on. Through these short films, we deeply understand the importance of film narration and storytelling. A good movie starts with a good story.

Week 20-24 January

This week’s film theory class covered a lot of theoretical knowledge, from the beginning of the Fibonacci series to introduce the Golden ratio, to the later explanation of various terminology, such as panning, axis, and so on. One of the biggest problems solved in this class is to unify our language, so that we can understand industry terms and improve our communication skills and level. Secondly, the form of the class is lively and interesting. Through continuous interaction, the teacher lets us understand the different expressive forces of different lenses, and makes us deeply understand the lens language.

Week 27-31 January

In this week’s class, we mainly talked about the narrative language of the camera. We practiced how to design the camera position to narrate through a scene. This scene is indoors, with three characters, one man and two women, and we have to tell the story of what happens between them through a limited number of nine cameras. I learned a lot in this class, I feel like I need to grow my brain, when the class was over, my brain felt very painful, I learned a lot today. I plan to use this knowledge in future collaborative projects.
